Ground Control’s Winter Maintenance Team Supporting Lake Meadows

The joint Ground Control and The Gritting Company Winter Maintenance team recently spent some time supporting our local Billericay park, Lake Meadows. It was a great opportunity to cement a relationship between our local green space at Lake Meadows and Ground Control, and gave our Winter Maintenance team some time out to boost their well being.

The park needed some work completed going into winter and the Lake Meadow’s volunteers were glad of the help. The team supported in raking the wildflower bank which is cut back annually and needs raking so the soil stays the right type for the wildflowers to grow back the next season. They also worked on the woodland path which needed maintenance to keep the demarcation of the path.

Lake Meadows is local to the Ground Control Head Office and many of our staff regularly use the space. The team delivered a jump start on these important maintenance activities to allow the community to continue to enjoy the beauty and diversity of the park. It was also a great opportunity for the newly extended winter maintenance team to get together and get to know one another in person with winter fast approaching.
