Members will now compete to win the Principal Award for each of the 29 Awards categories, and for the highly coveted overall Grand Award at the ceremony later this year at JW Marriott Grosvenor House, Park Lane, in London on 3 December 2021.

The National Landscape Awards’ expert Judging Panel, led by Chair John Melmoe, was joined by Wayne Grills and team members from Landscape House for three days of deliberation in mid- August, where every entry was reviewed and scrutinised.

Commenting on this year’s judging, John said:

The mix and quality of this year’s submissions was extremely encouraging with the number of applications on par with 2020. The complex and diverse nature of the entries continues to showcase the capabilities of the industry and its skilled workforce, with the continued desire to demonstrate a quest for perfection.
The kudos of receiving a National Landscape Award still resonates throughout the industry with entrants continuing to hold the site inspections in high regard. This coupled with the impartiality of the Adjudication Panel sets the Awards apart from others within the industry.
Each year the content of the entries takes on a new dynamic and this year was no exception. I was delighted to see the strong uptake of online submission for entry into this year’s Awards which represents a major step forward. We look forward to sharing members’ successes with you all in December.

Chief Executive Wayne Grills commented on the high standard of entries and the return to a physical event:

Every year I am blown away by the level of excellence displayed in the entries to our National Landscape Awards and this year is no exception. The number of entries that have triumphed is a true testament to the hard work and high high standards of all our Association members.
Like all organisations, we are carefully monitoring the ongoing coronavirus situation ahead of our physical event later this year. With restrictions lifting, we are pleased to welcome our stakeholders and members back to our annual National Landscape Awards ceremony, though we will continue to make sure we are operating in a safe and COVID-secure manner.
